Membership to Tau Beta Pi is by invitation only from one of our 251 collegiate chapters. There are no applications. If you feel you meet the scholastic and exemplary character requirements, contact the leaders of your university's Tau Beta Pi chapter. Click the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of this page and complete the form to request additional information or if you have any questions about joining.
Scholastically eligible candidates must be elected by a student chapter, pay a one-time lifetime membership fee, and attend an initiation ceremony. No one should decline membership due to inability to afford the fee. A loan program is available to cover the membership fee.
Check with your university registrar for deails on your class rank. Then contact the collegiate chapter leaders on your campus to let them know of your interest and standing.

Tau Beta Pi is a founding member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). Membership in ACHS guarantees that a society meets strict criteria designed to ensure student growth and tangible, lifelong benefits to belonging. Tau Beta Pi is a 501(c)3 non-profit and encourages careful examination of invitations from societies that are not ACHS certified.
