NOTE: Tau Beta Pi will host an in-person recruiting fair on September 29 at the annual Convention
plus a virtual fair on September 22. You may attend just one or both (See virtual pricing here).

Join Us — At the Convention of the world's largest engineering society. Here's the chance to meet the best and brightest engineering students in the nation. The Tau Beta Pi Recruiting Fair offers:

  • Diversity – At least 35 percent attendees are female.
  • All disciplines – Students represent most engineering curricula plus computer science. Tau Beta Pi student curriculum demographics for 2022-23 are: Mechanical: 25%, Computer & Computer Science: 13%, Chemical: 12%, Electrical: 12%,
    Biomed/Bio Eng: 9%, Civil: 8%, Aero/Astro: 5%, and Industrial: 3%. (Less than 3% each of remaining 13%, including Materials, Environmental, Geological, Nuclear, and Systems etc.)
  • Expanded Contacts – Receive access to resumes in advance and conduct interviews.
  • Honor Students – Members are drawn from the top 1/8 of juniors and 1/5 of seniors.
  • Visibility – Gain national exposure among top engineering achievers and leaders.

Publicity and Recognition
   All Convention sponsors and recruiters will be listed on the TBP website, in the Convention program, the Winter 2023 issue of The Bent (quarterly publication sent to 87,000 members), and the December 2022 issue of The Bulletin, which is published four times per year and available on our website.

  • Website recognition:
   All participants in the Recruiting Fair and sponsors of the Convention will be recognized on Tau Beta Pi’s website according to the level of partnership. Gold level and above ($1,000 and above): Logo with link to website will appear on the Convention recruiters page. Upon payment, please send a logo in JPG format to Pat McDaniel at pat@tbp.org. All other recruiting levels: Name of company, school, or program with link to corporate website will appear.
  • Convention app listing:
   All corporate, government, and graduate school recruiters (Gold level and above) may include their logo and up to 100 word description of the organization in the Convention app. Send a JPG logo and description to Pat McDaniel at pat@tbp.org by August 1.
Recruiting Fair Itinerary
Thursday, September 29, 2022:

8:00 am: Recruiters may begin to set up. Booth tables will be assigned and marked.
10:00 am: All day refreshments available.
11:00 am: Fair begins.
12:15: Buffet Lunch.
3:00 pm: Fair closes for students. Displays may be dismantled and prepared for shipping.
Booths
   Each booth will consist of an 8’x 8’ area with one 6’x 30'' covered table, two chairs and an electrical outlet if needed. Please contact Pat McDaniel at pat@tbp.org for questions regarding electricity and A/V equipment. An interview area will be available.

   To ensure proper storage and delivery of boxes in a timely manner any materials being sent to the hotel must be marked as follows. The shipping address is:

Catering
   Coffee, tea, and pastries will be provided at 10:00 am. A buffet lunch will be served at 12:15.

    Recruiters are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. A list of local hotels near the Convention Center is below:

Airport Transportation
    The hotels are approximately 35 minutes from the McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS). Check shuttle availability with each hotel.
COVID & CDC Guidelines
   To assure the health and safety of our attendees, Tau Beta Pi will follow the recommendations of the CDC and local health authorities.
  • All attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative result from a PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to arriving at registration in Knoxville, TN.
  • Attendees are asked to self-monitor and notify a member of the TBP HQ staff if they do not feel well or test positive for COVID-19.
  • We will provide information at the registration desk about local testing sites in case you are feeling sick during the week.
  • Masks, hand sanitizer, and test kits will be available at registration.
