Careers - Federal Government
- The U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) is actively seeking graduating engineering students (BS, MS, and Ph.D.) of all disciplines, who are interested in working in federal health agencies using their knowledge and skills to protect, promote, and advance the nation’s public health.
Please visit our website to learn more about the USPHS Commissioned Corps and its roles in public health and the USPHS engineer’s website for information specific to PHS engineers.
For students who are not yet graduating, our uniform service also has a program, the Commissioned Officer Student Training and Extern Program (COSTEP), which complements their formal academic education with hands-on engineering experience. Engineer students can participate at any time, but most of the positions are available during the summer time. Information on the COSTEP program can be obtained at www.usphs.gov/student .
