| New Jersey Epsilon Installed |
THE NEW JERSEY EPSILON CHAPTER of Tau Beta Pi was installed at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, on January 28, 2006. Executive Councillor Dennis J. Tyner was official installing deputy of the Society’s 237th collegiate chapter, assisted by Executive Director James D. Froula, P.E., and District 2 Director Andrea J. Pinkus.
The 2005 Convention granted a chapter to the local New Jersey Epsilon Engineering Honor Society, represented in Salt Lake City by student Gregory D. Webster and by Dr. Steven H. Chin, P.E., NJ B '79, advisor.
The Rowan Hall Auditorium on the campus was the site of
the formal ceremonies of initiation and chapter installation, witnessed by Aron
P. Dobos, PA K '06; Taylor Hamilton, PA K '06; Heather Jones, PA K '06; and
Dr. Robi Polikar, IA A '95. The initiation team comprised: Dr. Chin; Dr. Diane
Dorland, P.E., SD A '69, dean of the college of engineering; Dr. Ralph A. Dusseau,
MI A '77; Dr. C. Stewart Slater, NJ B '79; Janelle A. Konchar, DE A '06; Jeffrey
A. Seguritan, PA D '06; and the three national officers listed above. Three
alumni and 24 students comprise New Jersey Epsilon's charter members.
Immediately after the formal initiation, the new members were constituted a new chapter in the ceremony of installation conducted by Councillor Tyner. The ceremony included the formal election and installation of the chapter’s charter officers and advisors.
A reception in the Rowan Hall Atrium preceded the banquet in the Student Center Ballroom.
