- June 2011 - TBP is approved for 2011 Combined Federal Campaign (workplace fund-raising drive conducted each Fall by Federal employees and military personnel). CFC raises millions to benefit thousands of non-profit charities and associations.
- April 2012—The Association has announced the selection of 200 Scholars and 40 graduate Fellowships for 2012-13.

- February 2012— California Alpha Epsilon at the University of San Diego was installed as the 245th Chapter of Tau Beta Pi.
- February 2012— NAE announces the election of 66 new members and 10 foreign associates. Seventeen of the new NAE members are Tau Bates. Click here for the full list
- September 2011— Yvonne C. Brill is one of five recipients of the 2011 National Medal of Technology and Innovation. She is the 50th Tau Bate to receive the award.

- March 12, 2011 - Florida Iota at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University was installed as the 244th Chapter of Tau Beta Pi.
- Founded March 11, 1911, the Maine Alpha chapter of Tau Beta Pi is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Festivities at The University of Maine took place April 16, 2011. Click here for more information
- March 2011 - The National Inventors Hall of Fame announces the 2011 class of inductees. Two Tau Beta Pi members were selected:
Martin E. Hellman (NY E '66) for public-key cryptography and Steven J. Sasson (NY G '72) for the digital camera.

- January 4, 2011 - The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) has awarded the Charles Stark Draper Prize to Frances H. Arnold, NJ D '79, and Willem P.C. Stemmer. Edward F. Crawley, MA B '76, received this year's Bernard M. Gordon Prize.
