The Executive Council met in Knoxville, TN, on December 4, 2004.

The Council enthusiastically voted one TBP Resolution of Appreciation and one Special Service Award to retiring advisors of the collegiate chapters.

Councillor Russell W. Pierce was appointed installing deputy for the February 12 installation of the California Alpha Beta Chapter at the University of California, Riverside. The Council discussed irregularities in the election of an eminent engineer by a chapter in California.

The 2004 Convention held in October in Orlando, FL, was reviewed and judged to have been successful. The Council reviewed recommendations presented during the annual meeting and adjusted plans for the 2005 Convention to be held in Salt Lake City, UT, on October 6-8. The Council established a new policy to appoint an ad hoc Committee on Advisors at each Convention. In compliance with the 1981 Convention procedure for site choices, the invitation of Michigan Iota to host the 2007 meeting in Dearborn was accepted.

The schedule of Spring Conferences was reviewed, and assignments were made for national-officer representation at all 17 events. District Directors B.L. Frost III, J.C. Hill, and T.E. Schwaller were appointed to the TBP Distinguished Alumnus Selection Committee. District Directors T.A. Pinkham IV, S.L. Forkner, and S.E. Fable were appointed to the Laureate Selection Committee. Robert C. Huck, OK A ¹00, and Michael D. Soriano, CA L ¹03, were appointed as District 9 and 15 Directors respectively to terms ending in June 2007.

Executive Director J.D. Froula reported on the status of the 2004 Alumnus Giving Program and the various information-technology improvements; his first-quarter financial report of the fiscal year had been sent to the Council and was accepted. A bequest of $20,510 was received from the estate of Albert H. Winkler, AZ B ¹75; the proceeds will be deposited in the TBP Scholarship Fund, and two Winkler Scholars will be named during each of the next five years.

The Council continued a review of recommendations from the 1998-2003 Financial Review Committee. The Council reviewed the criteria for the sponsored TBP-SAE Scholars and requested additional information.
