| The Executive Council, or board of directors, is a group of alumnus members elected by the Convention to lead the Association, under the provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws and the Acts of the Convention. It guides the national programs of Tau Beta Pi through a full-time Executive Director, whose offices at the University of Tennessee are the Headquarters of the Association, and other national officials whom it appoints. All actions taken by the Council or the national officers are reported back to the Convention. Summaries of Executive Council minutes are available online. The current Executive Council, pictured below, comprises: President Matthew W. Ohland, Florida Alpha '96, Ph.D., associate professor in Clemson University's general engineering program; Vice President Ellen D. Styles, Alabama Delta ’85; Councillor Alison L. Hu, California Gamma '96, manufacturing engineering manager at Agilent Technologies; Councillor Russell W. Pierce, Washington Alpha ’70, president, Usbrit Consulting; and Councillor Dennis J.
